Focus in First Quarter: Descriptive Writing
|
First Quarter of Seventh Grade
The first quarter consists of focusing on descriptive language. That means students will be using lively verbs, colorful adjectives, and figurative language. Additionally, students will be incorporating the five senses into their paragraph writing. Furthermore, students will be studying the five steps of the writing process and the six traits of successful writers. Grammatically, students are focusing on writing simple and compound sentences. This culminates in a descriptive paragraph for the quarter one assessment.
